Dr. med. Ivanir Anchy Asher

He graduated in Medicine and Surgery from the University of Bologna in Italy, where he obtained the degree of Doctor of Medicine with a final mark of 110/110 Cum Laude. He presented his thesis on "Clinical contributions on anxious and depressive aspects, in adolescents, related to an autoimmune as well as psychosomatic disease - Alopecia Areata".


Dr Med. Anchy Asher Ivanir then obtained the title of FMH Specialist in Psychiatry and Psychotherapy from the HUG (Geneva University Hospitals) in the Department of Adult Psychiatry in Geneva.


During the period of specialisation and training, he worked in several psychiatric institutions in French-speaking Switzerland: the Malevoz Hospital in Valais, the Psychosocial Centre in Fribourg, outpatient clinics and the CTB (Centre for Brief Therapy) in Geneva, as an internal psychiatrist.


He was promoted to Head of Clinic in the Psychiatry Department of the Prangins Hospital in the Ouest Vaudois, where he worked part-time in hospital and part-time in outpatient clinics, then in the Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Department in Geneva, where he was Head of Clinic at the Centre for the Study and Prevention of Suicide (CEPS).

During this time, Dr. Med. Anchy Asher Ivanir received his Master's degree in Couples and Family Therapy from the University of Geneva, Faculty of Medicine and Department of Adult Psychiatry.


During his years at CEPS, he gave seminars to first year students at the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Geneva. The subject of the seminar was the distinction between a normal adolescent crisis and a pathological adolescent crisis.


He also worked as a clinic director in an outpatient clinic for adolescents, Santé Jeune, at the HUG, within a multidisciplinary team from different medical specialties.


His role as a psychiatrist focused on the psychotherapeutic care of adolescents who were reluctant to receive psychological care.

Dr. Med. Anchy Asher Ivanir was a consultant psychiatrist for the city of Geneva and now works as an expert witness and collaborates with the courts, particularly in divorce cases in the cantons of Geneva and Vaud. He has a practice in Geneva and one in the canton of Vaud, in Nyon, where he works with small teams (regional care network - home care, school, parents' association, etc.). He is also a psychiatric expert for the regional medical service (SMR), AI office.


He also participated as a speaker at the Seventh Congress of the International Society of Psychiatry and Adolescent Psychology in Montreal, on the theme "from adolescence to adulthood, passage and transition". The theme of his conference was Clinical Contributions and Reflections on Early Psychosis.


Dr. Med. Anchy Asher Ivanir divides his time between two practices, one in Nyon since 2009 and the other in Geneva since 2012.
